Fromeside Gymnastics Club Published by Karen Brewer · 11 November at 11:14 · A big well done to Ollie G, Ekraj, Euan and Will who all competed at the National Regional grade finals in Birmingham this weekend. Great results boys! Ekraj- a few uncommon mistakes from Ekraj but great to come away from his last grades competition with a team medal - 7th AA - South west team silver Ollie G - first nationals with personal goals achieved, shame for a fall on his strongest piece but this competition has put fire in his belly ! - 36th AA - South West team 7th Euan - A very much well deserved place, top three scores were within tenths if each other- Bronze AA - with invitation to the club camp at the national training centre with GB coaches in December Will - an amazing achievement for Will to come back from injury and gain this result - tough guy Will 12th AA - South West team silver Fromeside are very proud of you boys, well done ! |

Nottingham Gymnova Open 2018
Fromeside Gymnastics Club Published by Karen Brewer · 29 October · What a great weekend of competition for 11 of our boys squad at the Nottingham Gymnova Open 2018. Well done everyone, amazing results for each and everyone of you. Special thanks to Richard, James and Ekraj for judging for us and coaches Karen, Matt and Ben. Intermediate level 1 Notts Open Champion AA Gold - Oliver Tandy. Individual pieces - 4 gold, 1 silver. 2 bronze. AA Silver - Caden Mosley MacKenzie Individual pieces - 1 gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze AA Bronze - Felix Bailey Individual pieces - 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze Intermediate level 2 AA Silver - Sebastian Aquilina Individual pieces - 3 Gold, 2 Silver, 1 Bronze Intermediate level 5 AA Silver - Thomas Payne Individual pieces - 3 Gold, 4 Silver Club level 2 AA 6th - William Schmitz - such a great achievement with clean routines. Will has shown true strength and determination to achieve this result since returning from injury. Good luck at national finals Will. Thanks Dom
A special thank you to BG gymnast Dom Cunnigham. Don spent the entire afternoon at Fromeside yesterday describing his gymnastics journey to our gymnasts. He explained the need for hard work and the determination and dedication that is needed to be successful in fulfilling their gymnastics dreams. Dom brought a few of his many medals for our gymnasts to see. Holding a Commonwealth Games gold medal really excited everyone and actually made the experience very real to the gymnasts. Dom went on to do a bit of coaching, giving our gymnasts some great pointers. Thank you Dom for inspiring our gymnasts.

A big thank you to British Gymnastics and Drummer TV for a brilliant day behind the scenes of the Mens World Cup yesterday at the NIA in Birmingham. Cameron and Ekraj spent the day with the crew on the floor preparing for the event and in the evening watched some of the World's top male gymnasts. Special thanks to our GB coaches - Barry, Lee, Ionut, legend gymnast - Kristian Thomas. Well done to our GB gymnasts Dom Cunningham and James Hall. Good Luck at the Commonwealths guys!

Wow...what an amazing experience for our male gymnasts who competed in the British Championships at the Echo Arena in Liverpool this weekend.

Cameron - Under 18 AA -12th/31, Floor 6th
James – Under 16 AA - 17th/43, Pommel - 12th
Ekraj – Under AA 13 - 53rd/80, Pbars - 18th
Euan – Under 12 AA – 53rd/80, Pommel - 17th

What an honour and a privilege to be on the floor with Robert Blackman at the British Championships with the top male and female gymnasts in GB this weekend in Liverpool. Karen coached Robert from the age of three through preschool, rec and into the men’s program at the age of 5 years old. Here we are 25 years on…..and a few more.
